From Sanlucar de Barrameda near Cadiz in Spain comes this creatively produced range of stellar wines. Australian-Spanish wine man about town Raul Moreno Yague is behind the range in cahoots with local players in Sanlucar. Here is 100 year old vines producing palomino, naturally fermented in clay pots and aged under flor in old Amontillado casks.
Powerful perfume of warm, salted nuts, dried orange peel, clove, ripe apples. Delicious scents. The palate is washy and fleshy but tightens on ripples of fine, powdery tannin and the building tang of orange-y acidity. Wonderful here too. Deeply flavoured, savoury as can be, salty and minerally with earthy characters and dried stone fruits in the mix. So charismatic. Very complex, very compelling drinking here. A full experience in each glass.
