An excellent vintage for MR Chardonnay, though I seem to recall from the press release that this was the only Chardonnay made in 2019, so perhaps a benefactor of that, erm, fact.
Lemon oil, white peach, fennel, spicy almond biscuits and vanilla. Moves into a more tangy grapefruit flavour, oak adds a gentle cream and spice, though it’s in no way overt, slight bitter citrus zest character, tangy acidity and a pretty tight and zingy finish of fine length. A fair bit of energy here, and a good wine in a more racy style.
