The excellent wine human that is Louis Schofield is the person behind these wines. He works alongside the Ochota family in their winery, and now, has his own range (a few years in). This is from Springton in Eden Valley and is direct pressed to barrel. Organic vineyard. About four grams per litre residual sugar.
It’s a delight to drink. Complex, textural riesling, lightly creamy, faintly nutty-savoury, a sluice of green apple and sweet lime. Great shape and feel in the palate, slides along then builds to a chalky pucker. Just beautiful to drink. Fantastic wine.
